Hey Mummies (and Daddies)! I’m Elissa, a first-time IVF mummy to a super active 14-month-old toddler girl 🌟 If you’re planning a family getaway to Jeju with a baby, you’ve come to the right place. We recently celebrated our baby’s first birthday with an adventurous trip to Jeju Island, South Korea. While we travelled with our extended family, our small family unit had deviate from the main itinerary to cater to our baby’s schedule. So here’s our detailed 7D6N Jeju itinerary with baby, perfectly tailored for traveling with a little one!

Bonus: I’ve included some tips on packing, medications, and essential gear to ensure your trip with baby goes as smoothly as possible!

Essential Tips for Traveling with a Baby

Jeju Itinerary with Baby: Family Friendly Accommodation

During our research, we realized Jeju Island isn’t as small as we expected. With a baby in tow, travelling for 1-2 hours for every attraction isn’t ideal. Hence we decided to break our stay into two different regions to minimize travel time and maximize our experience. Even so, we only managed to visit places close to the two regions we stayed in.

Days 1-4: Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo (South-West Region)

For the initial part of the trip, we stayed in a fantastic Airbnb “Briana Private” located in a more rural area of Andeokmyeon, Seogwipo. This is in the south-western region of the island. This spot is perfect for families because it’s close to many child-friendly attractions and proximity to multiple grocery marts! Very convenient for quick grocery runs before we head out or when we’re heading back.

I would highly recommend this Airbnb as it has amazing facilities for babies. Everything from a cot, high chair, UV sterilizer & dryer, baby bath tub and washing machine & dryer. On top of that, it’s spacious, clean, and the host is very accommodating for families traveling with a little one. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a home-away-from-home experience.

While we stayed at the bigger building with our party of 11, the host also has a smaller building for smaller groups.

Days 5-6: Jeju City Center (Northern Region)

For the second part of our trip, we moved to a city hotel in Jeju City Center, Lotte City Hotel Jeju. This location allowed us to explore the northern part of the island and be nearer to the airport for our early morning departure.

The regular room itself is definitely spacious enough for family of 4. However, due to our sleeping habits with baby, we prefer a separate living space and managed to upgrade to a suite at a very affordable rate. The suite was HUGE, had a separated living space area and a HUGE bathroom – families will love this! That aside, the hotel is also within walkable distance to several shopping and eating districts – great for a stroll with baby.

For pumping mummies: The hotel also has a freezer where you can store breastmilk – just pass it to them over the counter.

Here’s what you’re looking for – A detailed 7D6N Jeju itinerary with baby! On the whole, our itinerary is designed with baby-friendly attractions and restaurants in mind. Most places are baby & stroller-friendly, but I’ll point out any exceptions.

As first-time parents on our first long overseas trip, we also paced ourselves with a less adventurous itinerary – usually 1 or 2 attractions a day. Our slow paced Jeju itinerary with baby allows for naps back in the airbnb /hotel while us parents washed up / pumped/ rest. However, if your baby can sleep on the go, and you have more energy than us oldies, you probably can fit in more places to visit in your itinerary.

Additionally, I would highly recommend two apps for the trip:

  • NAVER for navigation because Google maps is just not very effective there
  • Wanderlog for planning your trip – our entire Jeju itinerary with baby was planned with this app! Just drag and drop attractions you want to visit, and it will plan out the directions and all for you.

Rent a Car Or Charter?

Getting around Jeju with public transport is pretty difficult from what I’ve researched online. Especially with a baby in tow, so we didn’t consider that at all. We debated between renting a car or chartering and ended up renting one – because we wanted to be in full control of our schedule.

We went with Lotte Rent A Car – we also added on a Cybex baby car seat for baby. Everything was clean and in good condition!

Alternatively if you don’t drive, you can consider getting a private charter!

Day 1: Arrival & First Impressions

7:00 AM: Arrived at Jeju Airport. After purchasing a local e-SIM (alternatively get your e-SIM online beforehand) and car rental (which took much longer than expected), we were ready to start our adventure. Baby knocked out after suffering through the red eye flight – a story for another time!
11:00 AM: Checked into our Airbnb. After settling in, putting baby down for a nap, and having lunch (kindly bought by our Airbnb host), the adults also took a much-needed nap. Again we did not expect how much of a toll a red-eye flight would be on all of us.
3:00 PM: Visited Camellia Hill with the family. This gorgeous park is great for strollers and offers many beautiful spots for photos. Definitely possible to spend 1-2 hours easily there. Great for all ages!

Photoworthy spots aplenty at Camellia Hill

4:00 PM: Returned to the Airbnb for a baby nap, while we took the opportunity to pump, nap, and wash bottles.
6:00 PM: Dinner at Childonga Jungmum for Jeju Black Pork with the family. While the quality was not the best, the restaurant was spacious and accommodating. Not crowded at dinner time. Consider this a place to visit if you’re looking for a big, casual dining experience.
8:00 PM: Back to the Airbnb to unwind and prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Markets & Fresh Seafood

Jeju Itinerary with Baby: Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market
Early morning at Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market

8:00 AM: Arrived at Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market with everyone. It was a bit early, so not many shops were open, but we found a cozy soup restaurant for a hearty breakfast.
11:00 AM: Returned to the Airbnb for a baby nap while we enjoyed some ice cream and KTV on the rooftop.
2:00 PM: Headed to Daepo Port by ourselves as we skipped a hike to the waterfalls. Although there wasn’t much to see, we discovered a hidden gem of a restaurant Keun Gaetmul Hoetjip. An excellent place for affordable sliced raw fish (sashimi) and spacious seating for baby to crawl/roam around with a great harbourfront view to boot!

A quiet Daepo port

4:00 PM: Back to the Airbnb for another baby nap and some downtime for the parents. We enjoyed some golfing on the rooftop terrace and KTV session in the party lounge.
6:00 PM: Met up with our extended family for dinner at Usumi Sliced Raw Fish Hotel The Main Branch, known for its sashimi. However, if your group isn’t into raw food, this might not be the best choice.
8:00 PM: Back to the Airbnb to settle in for the night.

Day 3: Cafes & Gardens

7:30 AM: Started the day with a walk around our beautiful Airbnb grounds and random photoshoot with baby.
8:30 AM: Drove to Aewol Cafe Street (about 1-1.5 hours away). As a millennial mum, this neighbourhood is right up my alley. Lots of cafes, quaint shops, great eateries, and a coastal walk. But while it’s charming area, it’s not very parking or stroller-friendly. We made a call to baby carry here and it was the best decision!

Super cheap seafood ramen set at Nolman Cafe – everything for 30k won!

11:00 AM: Enjoyed lunch at Nolman Cafe, known for its seafood ramen. We took the time to slowly explore the neighbourhood, got some Randy’s donuts for takeaway, and even took some memorable photos at a Selca booth (plenty in the vicinity!).
12:30 PM: Back to the Airbnb for a baby nap while I pumped, and hubby washed bottles.
3:00 PM: Visited Father’s Garden next. Also another wonderful outdoor area for photos with gorgeous landscaped florals and sets. For the little ones, there’s also a little farm area where you can feed animals – from guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, dogs, and more.

Many photoworthy spots like this at Father’s Garden

4:00 PM: Returned to the Airbnb for a short nap before dinner.
5:30 PM: Dinner at Garam, known for stone pot rice with the family. While I’m not personally a fan, it’s worth a visit if you like this type of cuisine. We also made a short stop at Jusangjeollidae cliffs (not stroller-friendly, so we carried the baby) before dinner.
8:00 PM: Back to the Airbnb for a peaceful night’s sleep.

Day 4: More Cafes & Relaxation

Jeju Itinerary with Baby: Mippeun Confectionery.
The beautifully landscaped grounds of Mippeun Confectionery

8:30 AM: Breakfast at Mippeun Confectionery. A must-visit even though it’s quite out of the way! The pastries were delightful, the interior and exterior décor was stunning, and the outdoor grounds were great for kids to expend their energy. Overall a great chill spot, with plenty of photo opportunities!
10:00 AM: Returned to the Airbnb for a baby nap. And you know the drill by now.
11:30 AM: Headed back to Aewol Cafe Street because that’s how much we loved it. Lunch was at Jeju Hairtail Handam, followed by exploring more quaint shops for souvenirs, and also the beautiful coastal walk. To cap off the visit, we took a break at the beautiful Haejigae Cafe along the waterfront. The second floor has a huge traditional sitting area, which was a great area for little ones to roam around.

A stunningly beautiful seafront café with yummy paseries to boot

3:00 PM: Back to the Airbnb for baby’s nap. Planned to head out at 5PM, but baby woke up and had a major meltdown. So we decided to stay in and relax instead.
8:00 PM: The family came to our rescue with BHC chicken takeaway we enjoyed in the party room while baby had an early bedtime. We continued to enjoy the night with games around a specially set-up bon fire.

Had a ball of a time add wood to the bonfire!

Day 5: Moving to Jeju City Center!

8:00 AM: Woke up and cleaned up after ourselves. Some family members managed to squeeze in some relaxing time in the Jacuzzi before we left. By 10AM I managed to completely pack up and checked out of the Airbnb. Drove to the nearby petrol station to top up petrol and also grabbed some roadside snacks (Korean corndogs) for the drive.
10:30 AM: Headed over to experienced Mysterious Road—a fun optical illusion for everyone. Quite the fun activity to experience while in your car.
12:30 PM: Late lunch at Sukseongdo, known for its BBQ pork. One of the best BBQ we enjoyed on the trip! We even wanted to head back another time, but it’s super popular and we couldn’t get a seat the next day. So remember to make your reservations. But parking around the area is really crazy tough. So plan ahead.
2:00 PM: Checked into Lotte Hotel Jeju. The baby napped while we took a much needed nap after bottle washing duties as usual.
5:00 PM: Made the decision to upgrade to a suite for more space. Best decision! The new space was easily double the size, with two toilets – one huge one in the sleeping area, and another outside in the living space. The separate living space also allowed us to continue doing our activities freely while baby slept.

If you love soy suace marinated crab, don’t miss out on this!

6:00 PM: Met up with the family for dinner at Jeju Dongmun Soy Sauce Crab 제주동문간장게장. The food was soooo good, but the space was quite small (less than 15 pax ish), so it’s best to reserve in advance if you have a large group.
8:00 PM: Back to the hotel for a good night’s rest.

Day 6: Market Exploration & Birthday Celebration

7:30 AM: Brought baby for a stroll around the neighborhood (Nuwemaru shopping street) and on our way back found a random oxbone soup restaurant for a hearty breakfast.
9:30 AM: Baby nap time while did our parenting things and a quick nap ourselves.
11:00 AM: Explored Dongmun Market, picking up souvenirs and snacks. We also brought lunch (some odeng, sashimi platter, and fried fritters) back to the hotel.

Street food is a must-have at these markets!

1:30 PM: Baby nap time. We had our lunch, and I went out to explore the neighbourhood again and buy a birthday cake for baby’s celebration at the Paris Baguette next door.
3:30 PM: Celebrated our baby’s 1st birthday in the suite!
5:00 PM: Dinner at Yangdaegam Nohyeong (a BBQ restaurant opposite Sukseongdo). The plan was to head back to Sukseongdo, but both outlets were packed, so we pivoted to a nearby spot with good reviews too. Food was good too (they had my favorite beef intestines!), but it was more expensive.
7:30 PM: Back to the hotel to start packing up for departure tmr while family went to Lotte Mart for last minute shopping! Hubby went out to grab me some snacks at a nearby odeng store for supper while I pumped.

Delicious supper while I diligently pump before I go to bed. Mummy duties even while on holiday!

Day 7: Early Departure

4:30 AM: Checked out of the hotel via Express Checkout (just dropped off room cards).

Look at that ridiculous queue! Luckily we arrived early!

5:00 AM: Arrived at the airport for check-in while some returned the rental vehicles. The queues were long and counter staff surprisingly inefficient, so give yourself plenty of time. Then it was time for some rapid airport duty-free shopping. I highly recommend getting all souvenirs at the markets (Dongmun market or Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market instead) as the airport prices were easily 2 or 3X more!
8:30 AM: Boarded our flight home after some delay.

Kid-Friendly Attractions in Jeju for Future Visits

Given that this was our first ever long distance overseas trip, we didn’t manage to cover many attractions to give ourselves some leeway. But we definitely spotted many other exciting kid-friendly attractions along the way. Here are some attractions we plan to visit when our baby is a bit older:

Overall, we had an amazing time in Jeju and can’t wait to go back when our baby is older. The island offers a wealth of experiences that cater to families, and with a bit of planning, you can have a wonderful time even with a tiny baby in tow. If you have any other fun suggestions for a Jeju itinerary with baby or kids, we’d love to hear them!

Safe travels, and enjoy your family adventures!
